I gave my wife the new Nuvi 255WT for Christmas in the hope she will now start to drive the kids off to all their sporting events, parties and stuff. My wife by decision do not read maps. I registerd the product this morning and upgraded the firmware which wasn’t hard at all. Then i was notified that I was eligble to download the latest EU map for free just 30 days after product registration. I just bought a 255w last night. I am very dissapointed with the TTS voices, so much that I can only use the far superior non-TTS voices and now I basically have an extra expensive 205w model. If I had known about voice thing before I bought it I would have went straight to the 205w instead. Now I face either a hefty restocking fee and no GPS or a GPS that is about $100 more expensive than it had to be. I agree that if they fixed the TTS voice issue, I would be very happy with it.
